Final Modified

Simple steps to create impressive illustration

Step 01

Now, choose any image you like. In this tutorial, I select an image of Liv Tyler to process. Then, duplicate the layer, call it “Liv”

Step 02

Go to Filter -> Artistic -> Cut Out, and set the value like this
Number of Levels: 8
Edge Simplicity: 2
Edge Fidelity: 2

illustrated-002

Then, you need to cut out Liv Tyler. You should use Quick Mask, combine with eraser tool in Soft Brush to make a perfect cut. Then create a new layer, “Background”, under the “Liv” layer. Fill it with the white color

Step 03

Create a new layer, above the “Background” layer. Then you use the Shape Custom Tool, and choose the shape “Registration target 2″. Next, you choose the color you prefer and make a large scale of it like the demonstration below.

You will have this result:

Pretty nice, right ? Let add some more effects or you could stop at this step

Step 04

Create a new layer. You open the Brush panel, and set the following values:

Brush Tip Set -> Select “Star Brush 70px” ; Spacing: 30%
Shape Dynamic -> Size Jitter” 100% ; Minimum Diamter: 20%
Scattering: Check “Both Axes” ; Scatter: 1000%

You should try to draw around the illustrated Liv Tyler. Then go to Layer Style -> Gradient Overlay and choose the options like below:

To finish, duplicate the layer, then go to Filter -> Blur -> Gaussain Blur -> Radius 2.0.

If you like, pick up a flower, then apply the same progress for step 1 and 2, then set the Blending Options is Multiply, you will have a cutie tatto in her arm like my final result.

This is one of the reasons why Photoshop is such a vital asset to many companies around the world, Because of it's ability to Retouch photo's to get rid of unwanted wrinkles, spots, etc.
In this tutorial, i will be retouching a photo of Jessica Alba (Image from google images) making the skin look smoother, and making the photo itself more attractive, using 4 steps only!

1. First of all, get the image that you would like to edit.
You can use the image i have used by right Clicking, and saving it to your computer.
2. Hold in Ctrl and Press L to bring up the 'Levels' window.
Change the Middle input level to 1.63 by dragging the arrow across to the left . This will make image brighter.

3. Now to go Filter > Blur > Guassian Blur and change the radius to 0.8 Pixels.

4. Now all that's left to do is to erase the main features of the image, eyes, mouth, etc.
Grab the Eraser Tool, and choose a defualt brush, around 30 pixels in size. Reduce the Hardness of the brush to around 70%, and just erase the main features. This is to make the skin look clearer, Erasing the main features will get rid of the Blurryness.

Photoshop Colouring a character in Alien Monster

1. I have a black and white picture, a character in a Alien Monster movie.
I put it on the top of layer box . Choose mode: Multiply and lock it

2. I have a pattern background. I put it under layer 1

3. Use soft round brush, opacity 50%, mode: Multiply to paint the shadow of the background . You don't need to make it perfectly, regularly is ok ^_^

4. Paint the body of the girl: use soft round brush 100% . (Color #E5D0A4.). Paint all the body , after the painting , you use color #C49A65 to paint the shadow. And the color #B4672F for the dark in her body .You could paint the baby like her body , but you should put some red color to make it nature.

5. Her hair is easy to paint . first , I painted it with the brown color, if you don't like brown , you can choose black or red or something like that . But I think brown color is suitable for the background . You use color #7C2F04 to paint her hair .Use the dodge tool to make it lighter , use hard round to make the light in her hair . after that , you choose soft brush , Mode overlay , opacity 50% and yellow color for the lines in her hair. It will make her hair like sunsilk and make the picture has more effect .

6. I painted her horn by deep red color and some line in this by staring red.

7. Background, multiply all the background layers
Create a new layer ,soft brush 50% and choose the color #493E1E , #75652E or any dark color you like to paint the background. You don't need to paint it carefully, take it easy , make the colors mix each other. I used some dark green in the top of background and the saffron in the end of background.
You create a new layer, choose mode overlay in layerbox then use yellowish to make the light in stuff. I used the big soft brush to paint big piece of line , and use the hard brush to paint the line in background, that is like blood vessel.

8. Paint the baby. Use yellowish and green and some red color to blend each other

9. Pick the white color and use brush 100% to draw some line like...saliva ^_^ I remember in Alien movies has a lot of saliva

This is my final result:

I offer you this soft brush to paint this picture easier.
